Privacy notice
Last updated: 19 September 2026
Pear Up is an unincorporated collective of independent businesses. This notice explains how we handle personal information submitted through the Pear Up website.
Who is responsible for your information?
Pear Up is responsible for personal information submitted through this website. Valentin Ackermann is the initial privacy contact and can be reached at vackermann@augmentedinstincts.com.
What we collect
When you use our enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, business name if provided, enquiry type and the information you include in your message. Our form provider may also process limited technical information needed to deliver the form and protect it from spam and misuse.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in the enquiry form unless it is genuinely necessary.
Why we use it
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry;
- identify the most relevant Pear Up specialist;
- make an introduction when appropriate; and
- maintain appropriate records of enquiries and responses.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to requested business enquiries and operating the Pear Up collective. We will not add you to unrelated marketing lists without a separate lawful basis.
Who we share it with
We may share an enquiry with the Pear Up member best placed to respond. We only share what is reasonably necessary for that purpose. Once a member receives the information and handles the enquiry through their own business, that member is independently responsible for their subsequent use of it.
We also use trusted service providers to operate the enquiry process, including Formspree for form handling and Microsoft 365 for email delivery and storage. We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to establish or defend legal rights.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we expect appropriate safeguards to be used, such as recognised contractual protections. You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.
How long we keep it
We normally keep an initial enquiry for no longer than 12 months after our last meaningful contact. We may keep information for longer when an enquiry develops into a business relationship, where the law requires it, or where it is needed to deal with a dispute. The relevant member’s own privacy notice and retention arrangements will then apply to information held by their business.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, transfer, or to object to how it is used. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise a right or raise a concern, email vackermann@augmentedinstincts.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Cookies and external services
We do not currently use analytics, advertising trackers or non-essential cookies. The website uses Google Fonts for typography, so your browser may connect to Google to retrieve font files. Formspree receives your form information only when you submit an enquiry.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes. The latest revision date will always appear at the top.
